Area Nurse Manager Cheryl Rank says she has the nursing profession in her blood. She’s one of six nurses who make up her immediate family, and knew she wanted to go into the “family business” from an early age.
“I knew I wanted to do something to help people,” Cheryl explained. “I have a lot of nurses in my family, so it was sort of a natural thing to shift to. And now, my oldest daughter just became a nurse.”
Interacting with nurses is something that Cheryl experiences on a daily basis, both at home and at the office. As an Area Nurse Manager, she oversees 12 communities spread across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut. She loves the variety of the communities she gets to serve and sees each day as an opportunity to immerse herself into something new.
“Each community has its own personality and culture,” Cheryl said. “So just getting to know all the people and jumping in to help each team has been something that I’ve really enjoyed. I really enjoy going to each community and helping them out with whatever each day brings.”
Cheryl is relatively new to Brookdale, but has almost 20 years of experience in senior living. When she’s not serving others at her communities, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.
As someone with a nurturing spirit, Cheryl makes a significant impact on those she serves. She feels that she’s someone others can depend on and doesn’t shy away from a challenge.
