Two dozen residents of Brookdale Lodi gathered on the patio to remember those that have been lost over time. To honor those who have passed, the seniors opened small boxes to release monarch butterflies into the air, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter in life.

They’ll be singing the National Anthem at SoFi Stadium to kickoff Saturday’s Los Angeles Rams against Las Vegas Raiders game at 6 p.m.

"The Voices of Brookdale" is made up of 15 singers, all residents of Brookdale Gardens of Tarzana ages 76 to 101. They're currently rehearsing to sing the national anthem at the preseason game Saturday between the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

Every Thursday afternoon, residents at Brookdale South Charlotte set aside their walkers and pull up a chair to catch up and play cards.
