Resident rediscovers her love of painting at Brookdale Lake Orienta

Artist Cheryl Evans is carving out a brighter future with Brookdale Senior Living. The Brookdale Lake Orienta resident, who worked as a professional painter and in the art business for more than 20 years, found retirement a difficult adjustment. However, Cheryl says being part of the Brookdale community has sparked new creativity and given her purpose again. The talented artist explains, “One of the things I love about here is that I have been totally free to do anything I want to do. And it took me about six months to figure that out.” In addition to creating new art, Cheryl is leading a book club in the community for fellow residents.
