Immigrant Heritage Month

June 2024

Maria Skepple moved to the United States in 1985. Later, she found her first job at the only company in the United States she’s ever worked for: Brookdale Senior Living. Maria has now been with Brookdale for 32 years and serves as the Housekeeping Director at Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg.

Through the years she and the residents have shared many special moments, like the “All American” meal they shared when she became an American citizen, or when the residents filled the room to learn Spanish, Salsa, and Merengue from her. No matter the day or the activity, Maria’s heart for residents shines through.

This Immigrant Heritage Month we celebrate Maria and other Brookdale associates who have come from all over the world to help further our mission of enriching the lives of seniors.
