As a way to give back to those who gave so much for our country, when the community hosts events for veterans, Jessica makes sure to be a part of them. At one recent event, Jessica came to the community dressed in full uniform and played taps for the residents. “I’ve been playing trumpet since high school and have continued to play into my military career. It meant a lot to me to be able to recognize and thank our residents and veterans in this way. I’m so grateful for everything those before me did.”
Because of Jessica’s experience in the military, she really appreciates the hard work residents did with fewer resources, saying, “Our residents’ time in the service was much more difficult than it is now, and not everyone understands the sacrifices they and their families made. I love hearing their stories – they all have such an impact on me.”
Jessica really enjoys what she does – both at Brookdale and for our country – and just hearing the residents say how thankful they are for everything she does for them makes her commitment to both roles so rewarding: “It’s a special honor to serve this population and those who fought for our country.”
Thank you Jessica for your dedication to your residents, to Brookdale and our country, and for enriching the lives of those you serve with compassion, respect, excellence and integrity.
