On Thursday, March 10, 2022, the Alzheimer’s Association was awarded the first-ever Brookdale Senior Living Foundation grant. Accepting the check on their behalf was Dawne Bunn, regional leader for TN, AL, MS and LA, and Executive Director for the TN Chapter of the ALZ Association.
The Brookdale Senior Living Foundation, founded in 2019, exists to award grants to organizations that are working on projects or initiatives that will enhance the lives of seniors. Their work would align with Brookdale’s six dimensions of well-being:
- Physical
- Emotional
- Intellectual
- Social
- Spiritual
- Purposeful
This year’s grant will provide funding for the Alzheimer’s Association call center to provide support for seniors, caregivers and families that may be in need of support and information about Alzheimer’s and dementia.
“We’re honored to present the first Brookdale Senior Living Foundation grant to the Alzheimer’s Association,” said Theresa Cochran, senior director of Human Resources and president of Brookdale Senior Living Foundation. “We want to help the Alzheimer’s Association make a difference in the lives of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, and those that love them.”
The applications for the next Brookdale Senior Living Foundation grant will open in May.
