Sara Terry, Brookdale’s Senior Vice President of Resident and Family Engagement, will join a diverse group of scholars and business leaders as a newly named Industry Scholar at the prestigious Cornell Institute for Healthy Futures (CIHF).
The CIHF is the first academic center in the country to combine hospitality, environmental design, and health policy in a broad based platform. The CIHF is focused on improving service in healthcare, wellness and senior living. The institute develops and supports multidisciplinary educational programs, disseminates research and hosts a variety of industry and academic symposiums and practicum projects.
“I am humbled and honored to serve as an Industry Scholar for the Cornell Institute for Healthy Futures,” Terry said. “I look forward to engaging and learning from some of the most respected innovators in these industries to help enhance our resident and family experience at Brookdale.”
As an Industry Scholar, Terry will join CIHF Scholars and Fellows along with industry leaders, and form a cohesive learning community to create a strong multi-disciplinary knowledge-base; develop educational programs; and create academic-industry partnerships to explore innovations across hospitality, health and design. Industry scholars participate CIHF roundtables, advise on a collaborative research projects and create one industry-focused deliverable each year, such as a webinar, case study or research brief.
“I’m excited to be able to give back to an industry I care so deeply about,” Terry said. “I look forward to sharing my experience in such a dynamic, collaborative forum while hearing from innovators about the future of senior living and how we can continually enhance the lives of the people we serve.”
