Brookdale CEO Cindy Baier was the featured speaker at the Nashville Health Care Council’s Brass Tacks Leadership Series this week. She shared insights based on experiences of the nation’s largest senior living company as it has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and helped to keep residents, patients, and associates as safe as possible.
In an hour-long virtual interview with Council President Haley Hovious, Baier shared that the company’s culture of servant leaders whose heroic efforts are consistent with the company’s values drove Brookdale’s response. She said that Brookdale became nimble and was able to make cross-functional decisions quickly. She said that Brookdale reinvented its business model overnight and quickly adapted to address very serious issues.
Baier expects that as the company moves forward, telemedicine and the use of technology will continue to grow. Baier praised and thanked Brookdale’s 49 thousand associates for the sacrifices they have made on behalf of residents and patients, and shared that efforts to keep residents actively engaged continue.
