Brookdale’s Chad Carnes, a district director of operations, received the Employee of the Year Award during the Florida Senior Living Association’s 2019 Annual Senior Living Conference, held the week of July 15 in Ponte Vedra, Fla., at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa.
Carnes received this award because his attention to detail on state regulatory compliance, labor and budget reviews while simultaneously nurturing and caring for residents makes him truly unique. Carnes leads by example, working with a smile and a positive attitude and instilling confidence in staff and family members alike. His staff feels more capable, smarter and part of a team through his leadership.
FLSA’s vice chair Shelley Esden presented Carnes with the Employee of the Year Award.
“It was a privilege to receive the Employee of the Year award from the Florida Senior Living Association,” Carnes said. “I was surprised but thankful to be recognized and nominated by several of my executive directors. To be given an award for what I enjoy doing each and every day at Brookdale is just so meaningful. I am honored to be able to live out my passion for serving others with such an amazing organization, which has become family to me over the past 18 years with Brookdale.”
